Broadgate House is a stunning bed and breakfast in Barnstaple, situated in the historic Saxon burh of Pilton. This beautiful 17th Century, grade II listed guest house, is only half a mile from the town centre, hidden away behind a high stone wall and secluded courtyard.

We are so lucky to have such a tranquil and quiet setting, as well as, being close to all the amenities of the town, without the hustle and bustle and traffic noise.
Once you have escaped the outside world through the old coaching gates you are transported into a haven of luxury and tranquillity. Our aim is to pamper and indulge, and with our three sumptuous bedrooms, we hope you will find this in abundance.

Our B&B offers you all the opulence of a five-star hotel without the price tag. We have luxurious bathrooms with double ended bath tubs. One is even big enough for two side by side. Each bathroom has designer toiletries, walk-in power showers, and abundant fluffy white towels.
We have free Wifi throughout with a good speed connection. Our amazing breakfasts are legendary. They include The Broadgate Big Breakfast, Our American breakfast with pancakes and the purest of maple syrups. In addition to smoked salmon and scrambled egg and of course, warm puffy croissants collected daily at the bakery.
We accommodate grown-ups only. We are unable to take pets as we have our own two gorgeous cats, Marley and Lola. However, you are welcome to pamper the cats as much as you like during your stay. They absolutely love a good fuss.
We are a short hop to the Tarka Trail and Southwest coast path for all of you who are avid cyclists or keen walkers. It’s approximately 0.8 miles to the nearest access point on the path. We have three local pubs within a five-minute walk of the B&B. All three are found in Pilton itself. The Green Man, The Windsor Arms, and The Reform micro-brewery.
On Pilton Street, there is the amazing Pilton Fryer – our local fish and chip shop. You will also find Masala, the finest curry house in the southwest.
There is a Co-op within a half a mile and a petrol station at the bottom of Pilton Street. All the amenities of Barnstaple are about a ten-minute walk.
We are perfectly located for all that North Devon has to offer. The incredible coastline has some of the most spectacular beaches in the Southwest. We are just a fifteen-minute drive to the nearest of them. Our closest beaches to the North include the expansive Saunton Sands. Then there is the surfer's paradise that is Croyde Bay. Child-friendly Woolacombe Beach and the interesting Victorian bathing pools at Ilfracombe. Westward Ho! and Instow are to the south.Exmoor National park
is a mere 15-minute drive from the guest house here in Barnstaple. In addition, Dartmoor
is less than an hour’s drive away. Both moors offer breath-taking scenery, amazing walks, and ancient woodlands. They also offer some of the best cycling routes in the country.
There is so much to explore here in North Devon and we have enjoyed discovering pretty much all of it. We are happy to suggest itineraries for you and any planning that you may need help with. We love this part of Devon and it’s an absolute pleasure to try and make your stay a memorable one.
